We asked Chihway a few more questions – here’s what she had to say:

What is your favorite part about being a scientist?

My favorite part about being in science is the cool things I get to work with — it’s simply fascinating that my job is to study the history of the Universe! The other great part is the cool people I get to work with. Scientists are kind, simple, curious, dreamy, usually smart and free-spirited people that love their work and just fun to be around.

What motivates / inspires you?

Good weather, nature, and pretty things in general.

Do you have any hobbies or play any sports?

I like to sketch/draw/doodle/paint, and play table tennis and volleyball — not particularly good at any of the above, but it’s something that activates the non-scientific parts of my brain…

If you weren’t an scientist, what would your dream job be?

Probably an artist of some sort. (Actually, my undergrad professor once told me: Physics is very much like Art. You do it just because you like to do it.)
